Olive Branch Necklace | Symbol of Peace & Growth
Description
The olive tree is among the oldest cultivated plants in the Mediterranean world — trees still producing fruit in Greece and Crete today were already old when Homer wrote about them. In the Greek tradition, the olive was Athena's gift to Athens: the goddess struck the ground with her spear and the olive tree grew, and the city chose her gift over Poseidon's saltwater spring because the olive offered sustenance, oil for lamps and food and medicine, rather than power. The olive branch represents peace not because peace is passive but because it requires the same long cultivation the olive tree does — years of tending before the first harvest.
Growth in the olive's symbolic vocabulary is slow, unglamorous, and productive. The tree that takes decades to mature and centuries to become magnificent. The branch carried when the long work has finally yielded something worth carrying.
925 sterling silver base. Available in White Gold Plated, Yellow Gold Plated, and Rose Gold Plated finishes. Suspended on a matching chain.
Care
Your piece is made to last a lifetime, but it still deserves a little devotion. Keep it dry, store it away from other metals, and wipe it clean after wear. Small rituals like these are what keep a symbol sharp for years to come.
Design
Every piece begins as an idea worth carrying, then it's shaped, cast, and finished by hand until the symbol feels inevitable. This isn't decoration. It's craft made to mean something.
