Description

The dolphin appears on Athenian coins alongside the trident, and on coins of Taras as the mount of the city's mythological founder, who was carried ashore by a dolphin after a shipwreck. In the ancient Greek world, dolphin imagery on rings and seals marked the wearer's connection to the sea-trading culture that built the wealth of the Mediterranean city-states: commerce as navigation, intelligence applied to movement across open water.

The signet ring in antiquity was not ornamental. It was functional, pressed into wax to seal documents, authenticate transactions, identify the sender of a message. A dolphin signet placed that intelligence at the center of every act of authentication the wearer performed.

925 sterling silver base. Signet ring.

Care

Your piece is made to last a lifetime, but it still deserves a little devotion. Keep it dry, store it away from other metals, and wipe it clean after wear. Small rituals like these are what keep a symbol sharp for years to come.

Design

Every piece begins as an idea worth carrying, then it's shaped, cast, and finished by hand until the symbol feels inevitable. This isn't decoration. It's craft made to mean something.
