The Tursaansydan is a Finnish and Baltic protective symbol found on textiles, carved objects, and architectural elements across Scandinavia from the Bronze Age through the medieval period. The form is related to the swastika and the triskelion: a rotating figure organized around a fixed center, the principle of motion that maintains its relation to its origin.
